The combination of the traditional Kanchipuram silk fabric and the intricate kalamkari hand-painted design creates a unique and beautiful piece of wearable art.

The word “Kalamkari” comes from the Persian words “kalam” (pen) and “kari” (craftsmanship), which literally means “pen-work”. It involves painting intricate designs using a special type of pen made of bamboo or date palm and natural dyes. The designs typically depict Indian mythology, nature, and other traditional motifs.
